‘chaise renversée’ by pierre-louis gerlier provides a steady work surface, but at the same time it can be converted to a comfortable ‘chaise longue’ where one can settle and relax while reading, playing or watching a movie on a tablet. chaise renversée is a desk for those who do not wish to have a desk‘ the architect points out, referring to people who use desks only for replying to emails or paying the bills, and generally find them inconvenient and cumbersome. alternatively, the project targets those who would like to have a lounge chair available right after finishing their desk work.
